Vehicles burnt as tanker explodes in Festac

An accident occurred at Festac link bridge in Amuwo odofin LGA of Lagos State when a tanker carrying petrol fell on the ground spilling its content and causing not fewer than twenty vehicles and four motorcycle burnt down to ashes completely, it started at noon and engulfed for an hour.

It was reported that the Lagos State fire service arrived 30 minutes after the incidence but unfortunately did not have enough water to quench the fire.

An eyewitness Mr Olufemi Popoola explained that the said tanker was coming from apple junction and was going to Festac town the driver of the tanker was climbing the bridge when the tanker rolled back and fell causing an explosion.

Mr Popoola also explained that the people around came out with water to quench the fire but it was to no avail. It was said that the fire spilled into a car shop and burnt down some of the cars while the attendant was quick enough to move out some.

Mr Popoola said that furniture,bags and wears displayed for sale were all of the motorist recount how he narrowly escaped death.
