Healthy lifestyle reduces cancer

Dr Adebayo Oladeji, a consultant with the University college Hospital Ibadan said on Wednesday that youth can reduce cancer risk 90% through healthy living and good diet.
Dr Adebayo Oladeji who is of oncology radiation department said this at the annual lecture of students Association of Agricultural Extension and rural development of the universityof Ibadan, the lecture was titled ”Cancer and your health”.
The consultant said it that it takes 15 to 20 years for cancer to develop and for that singular reason whoever is diagnosed with such at the age of 40 as been infected with it over 20 year ago unknowingly to the person.He said 90% of what result in cancer is preventable adding that diet alone account for more than 50% of the risk factor in which smoking,alcohol consumption and sexually transmitted diseases(STDs).
Dr Adebayo oladeji said prostrate cancer is common among men which makes them encounter difficulty in urinating and speckling of blood in the sperm, he said the youths should eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and also to reduce the consumption of red meat, fats and processed food.
The consultant explained that cancer has common symptoms even though it will be treated based on the type of cancer a person is diagnosed with. The common cancer among the women is the breast cancer and that of the cervix which when detected early can be treated immediate,”he said.
