Governors approve $1bn from Excess Crude Account to combat terrorism

In a meeting held on Thursday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja by the National Economic Council,the Federal Government was asked to withdraw $1bn from the $2.3bn in the Excess Crude Account for the purchase of security equipment, intelligence, logistics among others so as to curb insurgency in the North East.
The National Economic Council includes all the state governors as members chaired by the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
